The Leather Couch - Part II

By Richard H.

I sat across the large oak desk in the plush office of Psychologist Elise Sutton. She is a beautiful woman in her mid-forties and she had a pleasant personality and a confidence that I found very attractive. She was very kind and charming, yet a bit brazen and forceful. Although I was asking all of the questions, I never felt like I was in charge of this interview. Throughout the hour and fifteen minute conversation, I sat back in the leather chair with my legs slightly crossed and with my notepad in my lap, busily writing down her answers and comments. I had to use the notepad and pen because she had forbidden me to bring a tape recorder or my lap top computer. As I interviewed Ms Sutton, at times she sat back in her large leather executive chair with the end of her pen in her mouth, at times she leaned forward and placed her elbows on her desk and stared at me intensely, and one time she even put her feet up on her desk and leaned way back in her chair. I couldn't help but notice the four or five inch heels on her shoes.

"How long have you been a Psychologist?" I opened with.

"Let's see, I've been practicing psychology for about fifteen years. After I got my degree, I worked for a school district as a psychologist. I only did this for a few years, while I continued my education. Then I started my own practice and I've been doing this ever since."

"What kind of psychology did you practice for the school district?"
