Naturally she is married. Her husband is also successful but they never spend much time together because of their conflicting careers. Both have children from previous marriages and both of their children have entered college. I work with Jane but I only come in contact with her on occasion. Our jobs take us in different directions. She is above me in the company but I do not report directly to her. Yet I always get excited when she gives me an assignment or makes a request of me. I wish I could work for her directly.

Jane has made eye contact with me on more than one occasion that I perceived as her eyeing me over. I always thought that I was over evaluating her posture because why would she be interested in me? I dismissed my excitement as being my personal fantasy and not real. That did not lessen the thrill I got each time she paid me a compliment on how much she liked my tie or how appreciative she was on the work I did for her.

Recently I was chosen to attend a conference. This is rare and in the fifteen years I have worked for this company I can count on one hand the number of times I was sent to a conference. The fact that the conference was on the opposite coast was really exciting. When I inquired who all from our company was going, I was really excited to learn that Jane would be one of the group.
