Masoch was also a writer and a professional and a good one. He wrote the famous book, Venus in Furs. He was bom in 1836. He loved to live in the fantasy of worshiping a woman who wore fur coats and beat him with a whip and tortured him psychologically and endlessly. So he wrote about it. He also pestered his wife constantly, to enact these fantasies for him. He bothered her so much that she also became a writer and her writings became the center of much controversy.
So what do we have here? S and M, Sade and Masoch. Two male writers who never knew each other and who non-consensually bothered people so that they could get their "ya-yas" off. I am glad they existed because they both had brilliant minds and incredible ideas and they were articulate and wrote about it. But I have found it hard to see what I do or call what I do, S&M, because I am a Female Dominant Woman who believes in the reality of consensual agreement before I engage with anyone. I also believe in the Female Principle as a guiding light which can save human life on Planet Earth.
Verushka has since relocated out of the Bay Area, and is now comfortably settled in the beautiful city of Portland, Oregon.
