Catwoman

Screen 1 of 6

On January 12, 1966, Batman exploded onto the small screen. This campy, over-the-top series featured Adam West as the Caped Crusader and the statuesque Julie Newmar as the Princess of Plunder.

Her skin-tight catsuit连体紧身衣 — a tight suit that covers the whole body became the standard for all future incarnations of Catwoman. Julie Newmar designed a clinging catsuit连体紧身衣 — a tight suit that covers the whole body that made the most of her dancer's body. Made of a shiny flexible material called lurex, she was able to slink around in very catlike fashion. To accessorize she added a low slung gold belt to accentuate her hips, and spike heeled ankle boots. Small cat ears clipped into her hair and she wore a matching winged mask on the job. Boys and men alike developed many sexual and submissive顺从 — willing to obey fantasies from viewing the fetish恋物 — a strong sexual focus on one thing-clad character of Catwoman.

She appeared in only one 2-part episode the first season, but was an immediate success. The second season saw her in no less than five 2-parters. Her Catwoman was sexy and dominant. Newmar's good looks and comedic delivery made her portrayal unforgettable.

The third season saw legendary jazz singer, Eartha Kitt, playing Catwoman, as Newmar was allegedly not available. Catwoman's hair style was changed somewhat, but the costume itself remained the same. Ms. Kitt, while not filling out the catsuit连体紧身衣 — a tight suit that covers the whole body as well as Ms. Newmar, did give Catwoman the best "voice" she ever had.
