Perhaps she was cast in this role for her willingness to be naked in so many scenes (and she does have a beautiful body). However, I did not find her portrayal of Wanda to be convincing. In fact, Claire Mijnals (who plays Wanda's mysterious female friend and lover) would have made a better Wanda as her screen presence conveys a sophisticated and dominant female (one would assume that her character dominates Wanda when they are together) capable of seducing and enticing the submissive顺从 — willing to obey nature of man.

The story is a condensed version of the book for time sake but I found the characters in the movie to be tormented and depressing. I did not get that same impression from reading the book. And the music throughout gave a constant sense of foreboding, aptly applied in view of the ending.

Considering this version ran 70 minutes in length, there were very few D/s or FemDom女性支配 — female domination scenes other than briefly intertwined scenes where Severin (referred to as Gregor) is a servitor to Wanda (he irons her clothes, he scrubs her floor, he bathes her) and there are only a couple scenes that actually depict Wanda whipping Severin while wearing furs.
