Ms Kathleen's Review
Screen 7 of 7
I pretty much gave you the highlights of this film. There are many, many scenes that are slow and tedious and plain uninteresting. As I said, the film has a gloomy tone and I believe Ms Treut was trying to make a feminist point about Eva’s life, portraying Eva as lonely and sad. From talking to Elise who met Eva on a number of occasions and who talked with some of her associates, Eva was a woman who embraced life and loved adventure.
I do not understand the purpose of this film. It is a documentary that should have waited. I found a more recent picture of Eva and she had lost weight and looked great.
Eva Norvind is one of the most interesting women the world has known in recent times. Perhaps someone will do another movie about her life, a movie that celebrates her life. I hope “Didn’t Do It For Love” fades away. This film is not a fitting tribute to Eva Norvind.
