Ms Kathleen's
Screen 6 of 11
The third time we see the use of a bullwhip it is when Mimi herself participates in a three-way role play with a grinning plumber, his Dominatrix女支配者 — a dominant woman and Mimi. She is tied face-down and the Dominatrix女支配者 — a dominant woman engages in light knife-play with her when in busts the plumber to rescue her but he is overpowered by the whip of the Dominatrix女支配者 — a dominant woman and he basks in pleasure while she whips him (once again the fake, silly kind of whipping, not the erotic kind or the punitive kind that the readers of Predominant might enjoy). Mimi feels stupid being a part of this childish game (and who wouldn’t) so she stops the scene and throws them out of the apartment.
I know what you’re thinking, ‘lighten up, Kathleen, “The Libertine” is a comedy.' You’re right and my initial thought that European sex comedies from the 60’s and 70’s are overly silly turned out to be dead on. I’m probably being too hard on the film, and I chuckled to myself a few times, although I’m not sure if I laughed at the places the screenwriter intended.
Ok, so I was deceived by the whole “… Trintigant, who sincerely loves Spaak, tries to deflect her from whips, boots and handcuffs, but before long he too succumbs to the seductions of aberrant behavior” movie synopsis. Now that I know it is a campy comedy, allow me to start over.
