Real Stories - September/October 2008

Twenty years ago, I went to live with my sister in San Diego. She had an apartment right next to Jack Murphy Stadium. You could lay out by her swimming pool and hear the roar of the crowd when the Padres were playing a day game. My sister had a roommate, Cheryl. I was still a virgin at twenty but I didn’t talk about it because I was embarrassed about it. I let on to my male friends that I had lost my virginity at seventeen when I went out of a date with a cheerleader from my school. Nothing happened but I hinted to my friends that I got lucky. Now that I am forty years old, I look back on those years as me being really immature. There was no shame in being a virgin at twenty but I was embarrassed about it nonetheless. What I lacked was confidence and I needed an aggressive girl to make the first move. When I moved to San Diego, I was hoping 3000 miles and a more liberal atmosphere would change my luck with women. It did.

One night, when my sister was out all night at her boyfriend’s place, Cheryl seduced me and I lost my virginity to her. It was a wonderful experience. Cheryl was in her middle twenties, she was a brunette, she had some kind of a skin condition with bad acne on her face but she was pretty and she had a great body. I kept looking at her tan legs from the time I got there and she would flirt with me out by the pool, which set the stage for my first sexual experience.
