Most men get their first glimpse of a scantly clad or naked woman through some sort of media, be it a picture in a magazine or a scene on television or the movies. A woman in a bathing suit is pornographic to some people. A woman wearing pants is considered pornographic in some religions. Man has feared the sexuality of women as man knows he is powerless when confronted with a woman’s beauty and sexuality. No matter how hard religion or society tries, there is no preventing a male growing up in this day and age with coming into contact with what some might classify as pornography. What religion and society can do is to teach boys to respect and revere women, thus they will not view women as mere sex objects. For an addiction to pornography is really the dehumanizing of a woman into a sex object and that is why some men cannot experience intimacy with a woman. Intimacy requires love and respect. Pornography offers sex without intimacy for the woman in the pornography is there merely for a man to throw his selfish lusts upon her. In the end, it is a shallow and empty experience (which you well know).
