We are in agreement that the scriptures reveal that woman was originally in a position of authority over man but God’s plan was altered and cursed due to Adam and Eve’s disobedience. This disobedience is explained by the story of the forbidden fruit. The story goes that God planted a garden and placed Adam and Eve in the garden. There were all kinds of trees and they could partake from all of them except one, which contained the forbidden fruit. God’s commandment was “if you partake of the forbidden fruit, you will surely die”. (Genesis 2:17)

But notice what God didn’t say. God didn’t say “if you eat from this tree, I am going to curse you and I am going to kill you.” That is what religion wants you to believe. They want you to think that God was testing Adam and Eve and that is why there was this one bad tree. God was just waiting for them to fail so God could pronounce judgment.

I find this totally against the loving nature of God. Why take all that effort to create this wonderful planet and all of these wonderful animals and a man and a woman after the very image of God, just to curse it all because of one mistake? That makes no sense unless the story about the tree and the fruit is a parable which contains a deeper spiritual truth.
