The best way for women not to be abused is for women to be liberated from men. And when I say liberated I am not talking about living separated from men but rather being self-sufficient. When women are not allowed to work or have careers, and when women are beholden to a male bread-winner, they can become victims of abuse because they are powerless. Under the patriarchal system, a woman is at the mercy of a man’s goodness. If she chooses well when it come to a mate, she will be Ok. But if she makes a bad choice in a mate, she is powerless unless she has her own capacity to make her own living. The housewife is at the mercy of her husband or at the mercy of Social Services if she is abused.

When the woman controls the money, a man is at the mercy of the nurturer. That is not a bad place to be. And most women do not want their men to be stay at home husbands. Some do, but most do not. Most women want their husbands to have careers and I don’t ever see that changing. So surrendering your paycheck to your wife’s authority is hardly extremism. You are not a helpless husband.
