Q. Dear Ms Sutton, as a father of four beautiful daughters I am encouraged by the data that points to an apparent societal change toward female leadership. I believe this presents greater opportunity for women to explore and reach their professional potential, and personal satisfaction in their relationships with men. I truly want this for my girls.
I must also say that I am currently evolving into a more attentive husband to my wife since I want very much to make the next 30, 40, or 50 years of our life together, whatever it may be, the best years for her and me. After a lot of soul searching for the last several years I determined my single focus in life will be to make her life as joyous as possible, and to let her take the lead in our marriage. Just small steps in this direction have yielded tremendous satisfaction for her, and delight for me. I only wished I figured this out when we were younger.
You have also written in previous responses to readers that you see this evolution of female dominance feeding off of increased male submission, and vise versa, in a self perpetuating and expanding loop, if I may paraphrase. If you could take a moment to extrapolate the eventual terminus of this cycle, I’d like to hear your vision of a future world.
