I frequent opinion poll sites and peruse the 'comments' sections and evidently I am not alone in my awareness and interest in this area (my observations also extend onto the relationships that surround me in my active life as well). It appears that a growing number of men, especially young men, are awed by female intellectual competence. Conversely, females seem to have no qualms in declaring themselves intellectually superior to men. I would even go so far as to say that society almost expects women to outperform men in most areas. Among the teens I know, the girls freely admit that they are embarrassed when a guy scores a higher grade than they do and the majority of guys seem to support this attitude. Such was not the case when I was growing up. There are always accepted exceptions to this rule "Oh, so and so is so smart, he got 100% in the math exam" but generally speaking, there seems to be almost a two-tiered attitude. Girls should strive for honors and lead by example but boys can go off skateboarding as long as they try to pass. That's a bit of a stretch but the point is that society seems to be evolving to a stage where women are regarded as having a more advanced intellect than men.
