That's an interesting assessment of the Genesis account of the fall of mankind. I agree with you that man has used the story of the fall to oppress women. That is too bad. Your analogy is very profound.

Whether you believe the fall is a literal event or a story to portray a spiritual truth (Jesus taught spiritual truths by telling stories and using parables), the Genesis account of the fall of mankind is about man’s fall from God’s grace (unmerited favor). The Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) is about man's redemption back into God's grace. Note - "man" as a species, not "man" as a gender. One of the biggest mistakes people make when reading the Bible is they confuse the word "man" with the word "male". Man is a species, just like a Tiger is a species. There are male tigers and female tigers. There are male "men" and female "men" (woman = the man with the womb).

So the fall of man is nothing more than a parable about man walking away from God. More and more we live in a secular world because people reject Patriarchal religions and yet more and more the world is full of stress and anxiety because we are spiritual beings and inner peace comes from spirituality. I find solace in prayer and in my walk with Christ. But that is my personal faith. Others find solace in meditation and other forms of spirituality.
