Some people consider etiquette to be an unnecessary restriction of freedom of personal expression. That may be true when it comes to certain aspects of societal etiquette outside the male/female relationship. However, I think men should always use basic etiquette when interacting with women because it shows respect and reverence. I think we are seeing a return to etiquette with a more balanced approach. Now that women are liberated, they can accept male etiquette from a position of strength.
