The women’s liberation movement had its pioneers and champions who blazed the trail by standing up to the patriarchal structure and daring to challenge women to rise up and demand equal rights and equal opportunities in education and employment. Once women began to stand up for themselves, the previously dormant dominant female nature began to be unleashed and the patriarchy began to lose ground. But it took women encouraging other women by setting the example.

Now that the doors of education and opportunities have been opened, women have achieved not only equality but superiority in some areas. The battle was always a battle of the mind. Women have been beat down and programmed that they are inferior but when a girl sees a successful woman, now she knows that she can also be successful and powerful. Each generation builds upon the gains of the previous generation and it becomes like a flood. It starts out like a slow drip, then it becomes a small but steady flow, and over time it becomes a mighty river. Now girls in the United States grow up expecting and demanding equal access to all societal institutions as men, and girls grow up expecting to match and even surpass men. If they tried to segregate women in the United States in 2006 by telling them they had to get a man’s permission to go to school or to see a Doctor or to go to a mall, there would be a riot and men would be there with the women at that riot because men in the United States want women to be liberated.
