For over 35 years since puberty, I have been pursuing ever increasingly risky compulsive sexual actions that have included masturbation, pornography, and cross-dressing. I have wasted many dollars and hours in this addiction. Yet of all these compulsive actions, nothing could captivate me more than reading fantasy stories about wives dominating, humiliating and feminizing their husbands. I have been pursuing female domination as the hope for intimacy in my marriage as I extinguish less appropriate sexually stimulating behaviors.
However, through pursuits of sexual addiction recovery (counseling, groups, etc.) over the past 11 years, I have discovered what has been driving my addiction. As Charles Whitfield wrote in Healing The Child Within, I have been suffering from false beliefs such as: “I am a bad and worthless person.” “No one will love me as I am.” and “No one will nurture me but myself.” These core beliefs have resulted in shame that has driven my addiction cycles.
