I imagine that this doesn’t come naturally to a lot of women faced with the [perhaps sudden] revelation that their husbands are submissive顺从 — willing to obey and want to be disciplined or dominated. Writing a well thought out letter allows a man to explain his feelings and perhaps to suggest an approach for his wife’s consideration. This is a chance to describe some of his wishes and desires, his fantasies perhaps, giving his wife a chance to understand what pushes his buttons; important if she’s then willing to play and explore with an open mind. It also provides a woman the chance to read carefully and think about the implications at her leisure before rushing in to anything.
