Terrified Benjamin runs down the steps and is almost out the door when Mrs. Robinson calls down to him to bring her purse upstairs to her since she is half naked and doesn’t want to go back down the steps. Unable to resist the stern manner in which she addresses him, he hurriedly runs up the steps and places the purse in Elaine’s room. But before he can leave the room Mrs. Robinson enters, closes the door and locks it.

By now she is totally naked and Benjamin keeps muttering “Oh God please let me out, let me out”. None of this shakes or distracts Mrs. Robinson in the least. She is the sexual predator and she has her sights set on her prey, Benjamin, and nothing in going to stop her. She declares her attraction for him and proceeds to tell him that she is ready and willing to sleep with him anytime, anywhere. The only thing that stops her from further pursuing her intentions is the arrival of Mr. Robinson, home for the night.

The eventual seduction of Benjamin by Mrs. Robinson takes place a few scenes later when Benjamin meets Mrs. Robinson for drinks in the lobby of a hotel. They both know why they are there and Mrs. Robinson is anxious to get on with it. Dressed in the obligatory leopard-style coat she is amused as Benjamin, the nervous and uptight youth, stumbles with his thought and words and is concerned that everyone he encounters in the lobby is sure of his intentions.
