Ms Kathleen's Movie Review

Screen 8 of 8

But all things must come to an end and to make this movie a happy All-American ending, Benjamin’s conscience turns to the voice of morality. And to win the heart of the young audience it was trying to reach, Benjamin compulsively pursues Mrs. Robinson’s daughter, Elaine, all the way to her wedding day when she is to marry another man other than Benjamin.

And in a rugged show of machismo, this once submissive顺从 — willing to obey, unsure, virginal young man displays manly characters that appeal to the hapless school girl as she runs off with him to an uncertain future.

"The Graduate" is a movie classic, beloved and timeless. Most young men, college aged and even younger, fantasize that they could have a "Mrs. Robinson" experience. If only the attractive female friend of their parents or their best friend's mother would seduce them and take them to bed. After all, that is the fantasy of most young males.

Mrs. Robinson is a societal taboo, a wrong choice for a "nice boy" but we love "The Graduate" because of her. We don't even know her first name but we know what she represents. While most young men may want to date Elaine, it is Mrs. Robinson they dream about and fantasize about. It is Mrs. Robinson they seek to teach them how to be man, how to be a lover and how to relate to the female gender. Here's To You, Mrs. Robinson!
