Ms Kathleen's Movie Review

Screen 3 of 6

The year was 1953 and the big news in February of that year was the return to the states of the first publicized sex change operation. A small-time exploitation movie producer named George Weis was trying to make a movie about the former George Jorgensen, now known as Christine Jorgensen, lurid life experience and shocking secrets as a transsexual.

According to the movie, Ed answered an ad for a director of a “boy to chick” flick. When asked why he felt he was most qualified to direct this movie:

Ed: Because I like to dress in women’s clothing.

Weiss: Are you a fruit?

Ed: No, not at all. I love women. Wearing women’s clothing makes me feel closer to them.

Weiss: You’re not a fruit?

Ed: No. I’m all man. I even fought in WWII. Of course, I was wearing women’s undergarments under my uniform.

Weiss: You gotta be kidding me!

Ed: Confidentially, I even paratrooped wearing a brassiere胸罩 — a bra and panties. I tell you. I wasn’t scared of getting killed but I was terrified of getting wounded and having the medics discover my secret.

Weiss: And you think this qualifies you to make this movie?

Ed: Yes. I know what it’s like to live with a secret and worry about what people are gonna think of you. My girlfriend still doesn’t know why all her sweaters are stretched out.
