Ms Kathleen's Movie Review

Screen 5 of 6

But this Domme女主人 — a dominant woman was not a scum sucking freak at all. In fact, to Baxter she represented the total opposite of the other women in his life. This woman exhibited control and demanded to be reimbursed well for her services. She refused to play the victim like the other women in the movie and because of this Baxter was fascinated by her and that is what drew him to her.

Aldrich was known for making guy films. He did such guy movies as “The Dirty Dozen”, “The Flight of the Phoenix” and “The Longest Yard”. Foxy was unusual in that she was a strong, aggressive woman in a world of machismo. This movie and the moral of it is a prime example of male ego gone haywire. Macho men who mainly associate with other macho men are setting themselves up for disaster because the male pride will always win the day and that is a bad formula no matter how you tweak the numbers. These “Choirboys” lived in an exclusively male world where women were but sex objects.

When one of their own was found out to be searching for a different kind of female relationship, their own pride and insecurities could not handle it. Sadly, by the end of the movie Baxter experiences a tragic ending, not because of Foxy but because of his inability to face his male peers.
