Fortunately, he left for work before I got up so the discussion was going to have to wait. In the meantime I had a chance to talk to Donna, and she told me to tell him I was just out with some friends and it was none of his business. She also told me to watch his body language when I did this to see his reaction. She had already told me that she went out whenever she wanted and her husband never said anything, but I didn't really know if that was true.. I was a little unsure of this, but I followed her advice. At first Paul seemed angry that I spoke to him like that, but after my reassuring him that I was with Donna and some of her friends and I needed to get out, he began to lighten up.
