Some of my views are very liberal (do you think that a woman who promotes sexual freedom and D&S practices is overly conservative) and some of my views are rather traditional (I promote marriage and committed relationships). I am a Libertarian because I don’t believe in big government and I don’t want the government to stick its nose into people’s bedrooms and sex lives. I am for free people making free choices based on being educated about the pros and cons of those choices. I have no problem when the government warns its citizens against the potential health problems of certain lifestyle choices but I do have a problem when the government bans those lifestyle choices. You can’t ban all things harmful because life is fragile and thus you would end up banning most things and what you end up with are so many laws and regulations that free people are no longer free.

I have issues with both of the major political parties in the United States but I am always excited to see women in power, be it Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice or Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. We need more women in power and we are getting more women in power. It is inevitable that the future is female and maybe one day when there are enough women in power, we will not be so concerned if they are Republicans or Democrats. Give me a Dianne Feinstein (D) and an Olympia Snowe (R) any day over the majority of the old boys network in Washington DC. Thanks for the great question.
